At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Data & Analytics Specialist to join our HR Team on a 24- months fixed term basis.
This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, and will be working as part of our HR team and play a key role in transforming workforce and business data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making.
Working closely with HR and business stakeholders, you’ll collect, analyse and interpret data from multiple sources, develop impactful dashboards and reports, and help improve processes through data-driven solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys turning complex data into actionable insights while contributing to ongoing systems and process improvements.
What you’ll be doing
- Extract, validate and cleanse HR and business data, maintaining accuracy through audits and quality checks.
- Produce regular and ad hoc reports that support workforce planning, operational performance and business decision-making.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, visualisations and reporting solutions for operational and executive stakeholders.
- Transform, model and analyse data from multiple sources to identify trends, provide insights and improve decision-making.
- Partner with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver data-driven solutions that meet business needs.
- Design and maintain data models while ensuring data integrity, consistency and governance standards are met.
- Support HRIS enhancements, system developments and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), documenting outcomes and resolving issues.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve reporting efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create and maintain reporting documentation, user guides and knowledge articles to support effective system and report usage.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, data security and confidentiality requirements when handling workforce and business data.
About You
- Previous experience working with large datasets, reporting tools and analytics solutions.
- Knowledge of Power BI.
- Experience using SQL for querying, transforming and analysing data.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including: Complex formulas, Power Query, Power Pivot and VBA Macros.
- Experience working with HRIS or other business systems.
- Knowledge of data governance, GDPR and data security best practices.
- Ability to produce clear documentation, user guides and reporting standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Working Pattern
This role is on a fixed term contract for 24 months.
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. We offer flexibility in our start and finish times between 06:15 – 09:30 and 14:30 – 18:00.
