250th anniversary commemorative coins travel across the globe | Sheffield Forgemasters

Our 250th anniversary commemorative coins have been on their travels! Four children from Sheffield, Max, Matteo, Elena and Kartar, recently travelled to Graz, Austria, as part of the Children’s International Summer Villages (CISV) programme, spending four weeks with young people from around the world.

Asked to bring small items representing their hometown, the group took along Sheffield Forgemasters’ anniversary coins to share with fellow participants.

The coins have now found new homes across the world, travelling back with children from India, Japan, South Korea, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Canada, Germany, Mexico, Norway, Sweden, TĂĽrkiye and the USA as a reminder of Sheffield and the friendships formed during the programme.

We hope Max, Matteo, Elena and Kartar, along with group leader Esther, had a fantastic experience representing Sheffield on the international stage.
