Our steel processing capabilities

Sheffield Forgemasters manufactures forged steel rolls through a dedicated, purpose-built facility focused solely on roll production. Using ultra-clean steel from our integrated melt shop and tightly controlled heat treatment processes, we produce work rolls and back-up rolls built for long service life and consistent performance in demanding rolling environments.

Dedicated Forged Roll Facility
A custom-built plant designed exclusively for forged steel roll manufacture, giving full control over quality, process stability and delivery.
Ultra-Clean Steel Production
Rolls are produced from ultra-clean steel manufactured in our integrated melt shop, ensuring controlled chemistry and material consistency from melt to finished roll.
Advanced Heat Treatment & Hardening
Computer-controlled dual-process induction hardening, vertical heat treatment, cryogenic processing and Selas furnace capability support precise mechanical properties.
Fully Integrated Production Site
Finished rolls from 2 to 170 tonnes, manufactured across alloy, specialist and Electro-Slag Remelt (ESR) steel grades, with full NDT and neck and bearing ring fitting services available.

Yes. We provide full neck and bearing ring fitting as part of the roll supply process to support installation and minimise turnaround times.
