Proven Expertise in Renewable Energy Engineering

Sheffield Forgemasters has a long-standing reputation for supplying cast and forged steel components to renewable energy projects, including hydropower installations and offshore wind developments.

Cast and Forged Components for Offshore and Hydropower Projects

We manufacture cast and forged components for renewable energy projects, including structural castings, transition rings, mooring systems and foundation nodes for offshore wind platforms. Our capability covers jackets, mooring systems, tension leg platforms, semi-submersible platforms and spar platforms, with components ranging from 1 to 350 tonnes in finished weight.
As a member of the British Hydropower Association (BHA), we work to deliver cost savings through alternative structures, ease of installation and improved fatigue resistance. Our integrated Research, Design & Technology team offers Design for Manufacture services, enabling us to optimise or integrate existing component designs for renewable energy applications.

renewable applications include

  • Casting Design Services
  • Mooring Connectors
  • Structural Nodes
  • Lifting Points
  • Mooring Padeyes
  • Rotolock Castings

Our renewables capabilities

Our renewables capabilities combine specialist-grade steel production, large-scale structural casting, precision forging and R&D-led design support. This integrated approach enables us to supply high-integrity components for hydropower and offshore wind projects where reliability and performance are essential.
