Sheffield Forgemasters apprentices meet the PM

It is with great pride that a small delegation from Sheffield Forgemasters joined the Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer and Secretary of State for Defence, John Healy MP, at No. 10, Downing Street yesterday.

Two apprentices, Renee Marsh and Harley Edmonds, were accompanied by People Development Specialist, Harriett Eccles, and CEO, Gary Nutter to the event, which set out to raise the importance of skilled jobs in defence manufacture.

We were one of a few select companies chosen to represent industry and in addition to meeting the Ministers, our team spoke to an audience of college students about the well-paid opportunities that manufacturing for the security of our country can offer.

Our ongoing apprenticeships programme, coupled with the company’s large-scale recapitalisation programme to underpin defence manufacture, is providing excellent career opportunities for decades to come.
